Introduction

Hello and thank you for visiting / stumbling across this site or simply pressing the wrong button!

I am not going to give my gender / political views or anything else that would immediately categorise me in the minds of folk that thrive on these things. Let’s just say that I have been on this planet a while and the leaves are turning golden brown on my tree. Like Autumn, full of fruitfulness but unlike Autumn far from mellow.

I remember the Beatles (just). I recall as a very young child the moon landing in 1969 when the world was full of excitement, optimism, invention and achievement. More than 50 years later we have become very inward looking and it seems to me, full of angst. And it’s not Coronavirus that is to blame, this was happening long before that.

I find the tribalism disappointing. We are not allowed to be just human. We have to be left or right. We are expected to choose from a long list to establish our gender, which is fine but then we are not allowed to keep that choice to ourselves because the leaders of the tribes are always looking for new members. Why can’t we just be?

I believe that together we are stronger. No, this is not a nod to the EU but we should be able to acknowledge our humanity ahead of any sub divisions and respect the views of others. Debate is good but screamy shouty “with me or against me” gets us nowhere.

So, yes, I am a bit bewildered about the world and thought I would pop my thoughts here for anyone who cares to read them. I am not a c’leb nor do I have any such aspirations. I seek to entertain not lecture. Agree or disagree, I don’t care but do please approach this blog with a smile on your face.

Now what to write about first? A subject simple and uncomplicated, perhaps? I know, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Coming soon.
